Parents

A parent is a caregiver of the offspring in their own species. In humans, a parent is the caretaker of a child (where "child" refers to offspring, not necessarily age). A biological parent is a person whose gamete resulted in a child, a male through the sperm, and a female through the ovum.

You as a sister, have to power nor authority on your brother's life. The best you can do is advising him in a nice way which can be accepted by him. As far as your parents decisions, you should keep full respect for them and if you have a suggestion, you should be very polite in presenting your suggestions to your parents. If you feel that their decisions regarding your brother's life are not correct, you try to explain your opinion to them in a very polite way and you can request respected other family members to talk to your parents in a nice way.

It is difficult to give recommendations without knowing the full circumstances of the case. It is advisable to get a senior scholar, or cleric, to meet with your parents and discuss the issue with them.

You may have heard the hadith that says that if a believer comes to ask for the hand of a young woman, and he is rejected for no Islamic reason, 'fitnah will spread on the earth.'

Cultural and family issues require sensitivity though. Your parents, and his parents need to be helped to overcome their fears. I knew of an English woman who married into a family and her mother-in-law initially threatened suicide, but after some years, all the other families in their community were saying that they wished they had a daughter-in-law like that English woman.

You can also request good persons who are respected by your parents to try to talk to your parents to convince them.

When parents are in need, it puts a responsibility on their earning sons to support them. Spending on the parents is obligatory not just recommended. When parents expect financial assistance from their sons, it means that they are in need of that assistance. You can not claim that your parents are well off and don’t need your financial assistance as far as they ask you to assist them. You must do your best to assist them even if you have your own financial challenges. Best place to spend is to assist your parents then your relatives then other needy and deserving persons.

No, you are not obliged to share details about this with anyone, and it is none of anyone's concern as to how much you earn.

A parent might be concerned about your spending, or if you are being paid fairly, or something like that, so communication on that level is beneficial, and you should not be that sensitive as well.

And Allah knows best.
