God (Allah) . Meaning . Salah (Prayers) . Surat al-Kawthar

In Surah Kausar, Allah states Fasalli Lirabbika. What is its meaning and to whom is it addressed? How does it differ from the command of Aqeem al-Salat which appears multiple times directed towards the believers?

Sura Kauthar is addressing the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) himself informing him about the great blessed bounties granted to him ( Lady Fatima ) and refuting his enemies' claim that he is a cut off person (Abtar means with no issue). Fasalli Lirabbika means : So, Pray to Your Lord (Who Granted you the Kauthar).

Aqim Assalat أَقِم الصلاة (Establish Prayers) is the order to all believers while Sura Al-Kauthar is addressing the Prophet Muhammad (SAWA) alone.

Is Allah called Al-Hadi Al-Mahdi in certain Duas? If the term Mahdi signifies being guided, how can Allah be seen as guided by anyone else?

Al-Haadiالهادي is one of the Names of Allah (SWT) which means : He, Who guides to the right path.

I don't know any Du'a which calls Allah (SWT) as Al-Mahdi ( The guided). Allah (SWT) is The Guide for every Muslim and no one can guide Him.

Love . God (Allah)

Some claim Allah has hands, and the reply is that Allah is unlike His creation, so He cannot have hands. Then it is said that while Allah and humans both love, their love is different, similar to the difference in hands. How should one respond to this?

Claiming that Allah (SWT) Has hands or legs or eyes etc is completely wrong. Such claim goes against Quran where Allah Has clearly Sys (ليس كمثله شيء There is nothing like Him) Sura Al-Shura, Verse 11. This claim was taken from previous peoples who claimed that Allah Has hands. Quran says: (QUL HOWALLAHU AHAD). AHAD means the Ine Who Has no Similar at all.

Claiming hands for Allah (SWT) leads to disbelieving in Allah and imagining something else.

Is seeking forgiveness from Allah sufficient for disobeying my teacher, whom I thought was wrong, or should I also ask for forgiveness directly from my teacher?

If you disrespected or caused any harm to any one, you definitely need to seek from him to pardon you. If disobeyed your teacher because you thought that he was wrong, and you not cause him and harm or insult, then you don't need to seek forgiveness from him if you were not obliged to obey him.

Rape . Children . God (Allah)

Why didn't Allah intervene in the recent case of a 6-year-old child who was raped? If Allah helps us when we ask, why was this child, who is too young to seek help, not offered protection or assistance?

Allah, The Exalted, Has Ordered in justice and fairness and prevented injustice and wrong. Allah (SWT) Helps those who do good and never Helps in wrong. Those who commit crimes do that with out any help from Allah but because if their criminal intentions and acts. Allah (SWT) Does not stop criminals but He never Helps them. Many prophets including Prophet Yahya (AS) and Infallible Imams were killed by the criminals. Allah (SWT) Will definitely punish the criminals but He Does not Stop them. Life is an exam for all people and the exam needs freedom to do good or bad then results will be according to what we intentionally did. It is wrong to think that Allah (SWT) should stop criminals from committing crimes. Such thinking is against the freedom of people to choose and opt to do good or bad then face the results of their deeds. Imam Hussain (AS) and his children and companions were killed in Karbala and Allah (SWT) never Stopped the criminals. They will definitely face the results of their crimes and victims will be granted great reward for their sufferings.

Fornication . Forgiveness . Sin . God (Allah)

If someone engages in fornication, sincerely repents to Allah, and resolves not to repeat the act, is the sin forgiven, or does the partner also need to seek forgiveness from the other involved?

Fornication is a major sin. If the person who committed sin sincerely repents and firmly decides not to do it again and seek forgiveness, Allah is The Best Forgiver and The Most Merciful. The partner is responsible for his/her own sin.

Sometimes, the best way to stop doing something is just to stop, and ask Allah for help.

However, it could also be useful to look into support for overcoming addictions (ranging from support groups online for this topic, to natural supplements that can help break addictive behaviour in the brain), and to use whatever is beneficial for you.

Does al-Kafi (1/409) state that the Imams have complete authority over everything in the heavens and earth, despite the Quran attributing these qualities solely to Allah? What does the divinity of Imamate signify?

This edition notes some weaknesses and problems with the hadith in this chapter.

In any case, Shi'a have varying views about the spiritual nature, knowledge, and authority of the Imams. Some take a rather expansive view, and some take a more restrictive view.

As for the more expansive view, you could read through the book by Mohammad Ali Amir-Moezzi The Divine Guide in Early Shi'ism, which attempts to explain what this means. This tends to be a love-or-hate book - some people love it, other people hate it - but it handles the subject excellently.

Ultimately, if you are Shi'i, this is a theological issue you will have to decide on for yourself (and your views may change over time). If you are not Shi'i, you can still explore and appreciate the variety of views.

Did the companions of Isa (AS), to whom Allah sent down food from paradise, die as believers?

We have in some books that some of the companions of Easa (AS) were not grateful to the bounty of Allah Who Sent to them a table of food from the sky for them. Sura Al-Ma'idah, verse 115 mentioned: Allah Said: I am going to send it down unto you, but if any one of you after that disbelieves, then I will punish him with a torment which I have not inflicted on anyone among all the mankind).
