Shaykh Abu Ja’far said that our belief regarding Qur’an was that it was the word of God and its transmission was authorised by Him.

Falsehood and deception could not stand against it nor could it gain entry into it through backdoor.

لَا يَأْتِيهِ الْبَاطِلُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَلَا مِنْ خَلْفِهِ تَنْزِيلٌ مِنْ حَكِيمٍ حَمِيدٍ

“Falsehood cannot come to it from before it or behind it. A revelation from the Wise, the Praiseworthy” (41:42).

This was to say that its past, present and future episode were all correct. This book was from the All-Knowledgeable God and all of its events were correct.

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ الْقَصَصُ الْحَقُّ ۚ

“Lo! This verily is the true narrative” (3:62).

It was an absolute word, and not a book of playtime stories. God had revealed it with His authority.

إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ

“And Verily this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word” (86:13).

وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ

“It is no pleasantry” (86:14).

He was its initiator and He was the one to protect it and He was the one to speak through it.
