ع أبو صالح السمان ذكوان المدني مولى جويرية الغطفانية وكان يجلب الزيت والسمن الى الكوفة شهد الدار وحصار عثمان رضي الله تعالى عنه وسأل سعد بن أبي وقاص وسمع أبا هريرة وعائشة وابن عباس وعدة من الصحابة رضي الله تعالى عنهم وعنه ابنه سهيل والأعمش وسمى وزيد بن اسلم وبكير بن الأشج ويحيى بن سعيد وطائفة ذكره أحمد فقال ثقة ثقة من أجل الناس واوثقهم قال الأعمش سمعت من أبي صالح ألف حديث قلت توفى سنة إحدى ومائة رحمه الله تعالى

Yahya bin Bakir and others said he died in the year 101. I (the speaker) said, Abu Dawud asked Ibn Ma'in, "Who were the reliable narrators about Abu Huraira?" He said, "Ibn Musayyib, Abu Salih, Ibn Sirin, Al-Muqbiriy, Al-A'raj, Abu Rafi." Al-Saji said, "Trustworthy, truthful." Al-Harbi said, "He was among the trustworthy." Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the trustworthy. Al-Ajli said, "Trustworthy." Abu Zur'a said, "He never met Abu Dhar."
